MAINTENANCE AND MATERIAL CARE
Regular maintenance and cleaning of your products are an investment in their longevity. By taking care of them, you will not only extend their lifespan but also maintain their beauty and functionality for many years. Take care of your products so they serve you well and retain their original appearance for a long time.
LEATHER (GENUINE LEATHER)
- Use a soft cloth or sponge and lukewarm water for cleaning. Leather is a delicate material that deserves gentle care.
- For tougher stains, use a special leather cleaning foam that is both gentle and effective.
- After cleaning, allow the leather to dry naturally at room temperature. Never expose it to direct heat, as this could damage the material.
- Treat the leather with a colorless shoe cream or a mild body cream to keep it flexible and resistant.
- Regularly apply a special leather protection product to help shield the item from moisture and dirt.
- Leather has specific characteristics, such as shedding fibers from the underside. Darker shades of leather may partially release pigment when damp, potentially staining contact surfaces. This is not a defect but a natural property of leather. Be cautious, especially when wearing a new black backpack over a white shirt.
What Not to Do:
- Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, bleach, or alcohol, as they can permanently damage the leather.
- Do not expose leather to prolonged direct sunlight or heat sources like radiators, as this can dry it out or damage its structure.
- Do not machine wash, wring out, or tumble dry leather. This can compromise the material’s integrity and shorten its lifespan.
- Do not submerge leather in water, as it may cause deformation and changes in appearance.
SYNTHETIC MATERIALS
Synthetic materials are highly durable, but they still require proper care.
- Clean with a soft cloth, sponge, or brush and lukewarm water.
- For stains, use a mild liquid detergent, preferably one free from harsh chemicals.
- After cleaning, let synthetic materials air dry, but avoid direct sunlight or heat sources.
What Not to Do:
- Do not use harsh chemicals that may damage or alter the material’s color.
- Do not machine wash, wring out, or tumble dry synthetic materials, as they may lose their shape or become damaged.
- Do not expose synthetic materials to high temperatures, as they can melt or warp.
COMBINATION OF LEATHER AND SYNTHETIC MATERIALS
- Clean mixed materials carefully—ideally in a bathtub or shower area. Do not machine wash them.
- Gently wipe leather parts with a damp sponge to remove dirt.
- Use a cleaning foam such as COMBI CARE FOAM, which is suitable for both leather and synthetic components.
- Clean fabric parts with a brush and liquid detergent, depending on the color. For stubborn stains, dish soap or Cifcan be used.
- Avoid excessive soaking of leather parts to preserve their quality.
- After cleaning, rinse the backpack lightly in the shower and let it air dry—never under direct sunlight.
- Do not wring or tumble dry. Instead, gently pat the material dry with a terry cloth towel.
- When drying, ensure that the fabric part does not lay directly on the leather, as it may absorb dye from the leather, which cannot be removed.
- Once dry, treat leather parts with a colorless cream or a mild, non-greasy body cream to restore their suppleness and appearance.
What Not to Do:
- Do not wring or tumble dry.
- Use a terry cloth towel for gentle drying. Do not use a hairdryer.
- Ensure that the fabric does not rest on leather parts during drying to prevent unwanted color transfer.
